Lastly, we are saddened to report that 2600 has been removed from active service. The car has sustained damage to one of its wheel flanges and the metal is too brittle to repair to a safe operating state. The car will need new wheels pressed on all around to render it ready for active service again.
What is the associated cost with a repair such as that?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately expensive as we will likely need to have new wheels specially cast for the car. 2600 need other work as well as its restoration is showing age. To fix the car to ideal state (full restoration), expect something along the lines of 100-150k, which is the typical cost of a restoration project.
